The visitor details panel in the inbox shows where a visitor came from and the page they were on when the chat started. Both rows appear in the expanded part of the panel, after Web sessions and before the browser details.
Viewing the URLs in a conversation
- Go to Inbox from the left sidebar.
- Open the conversation.
- In the visitor details panel, click View more.
Referral URL is the page the visitor came from on their most recent visit to your site. It shows "-" when no referrer was recorded, for example when the visitor typed your address directly.
Started at URL is the full address of the page where the conversation started. It is shown as a link that opens in a new tab. The value is recorded once, when the chat starts, and does not change if the visitor moves to other pages.
Viewing the referral URL on a contact
The same panel appears on a contact's page under Contacts. A contact is not tied to a single conversation, so only the Referral URL row is shown there.
